Bridal party wear

FYI: Click on the pic thumbnail, and it will open up larger in a new window for better viewing.

The guys are easy: white shirts, dark pants, suspenders, optional tie and newsboy hat.

For the girls, still a bit stumped. Here are some pics I like that have a nice vintage feel. I really like the top right photo because it's something we could possibly make ourselves. But I don't know how all the girls would feel about wearing something like this. I thought everyone could pick a color, and then accessorize the dress however they want. Jenna could wear a fabulous headpiece, Allison could wear a belt and boots, Amanda could wear a sweet sweater, etc.

The other idea was to simply pick a color and have all the girls wear whatever they want. The only problem is -- I don't know which color! Originally I wanted blue, but there are so many friggin shades, it makes my head want to explode! Here's my dilemma: robin's egg blue is what my eye keeps getting drawn to, but that's really more 1950s than 1930s.

So then maybe just a light blue dress, and see who comes up with what?

Here's a combination of light and dark blues as a color scheme, but it just doesn't grab me as much -- altho I do love the topper and blueberry pail. Another thought I had was to find a navy blue bolero or short cardigan and have everyone find a dress to coordinate with it.

 Thoughts?

  1. Jcrew always has sales on these dresses. They are easy to dress up or down and come in a large array of colors. PLUS they were easy to alter as far as the heme.

  2. Thanks for the suggestion. The only thing is that I want to keep all the dresses under $30 and make sure everyone gets something they'll actually wear again. I'm thinking with all the spring and summer collections coming out, I bet we could find a cool sundress at Old Navy or some place like that for cheap. And they normally have a similar pattern in varying colors, which could play well with your earlier suggestion about not restricting myself to a color palette and just sticking with "pastel" as a general concept. Looking forward to more links! =)
